1 John 3:21 - 4:6

Beloved, if the heart (of ours) doesn’t condemn, we have confidence toward God

親愛的弟兄啊，我們的心若不責備我們，就可以向上帝坦然無懼了。

h`mw/n是心的所有格，或是kataginw,skh|的受格，二擇一

²²  kai. o] eva.n aivtw/men lamba,nomen avpV auvtou/( o[ti ta.j evntola.j auvtou/ throu/men kai. ta. avresta. evnw,pion auvtou/ poiou/menÅ  

And we receive from him whatever we might ask, because we keep his commandments and do the pleasing before him.

並且我們一切所求的，就從他得著；因為我們遵守他的命令，行他所喜悅的事。

And this is his commandment, that we should believe in the name of his son Jesus Christ and love one another, as he gave us a commandment.

上帝的命令就是叫我們信他兒子耶穌基督的名，且照他所賜給我們的命令彼此相愛。（似乎把逗點放在kai.前面）

．UBS標點的意涵：誡命有兩項內容(1)信他兒子耶穌基督的名(2)彼此相愛。

若將kai.翻成also，兩項內容就呈現一體兩面的感覺。

．「信耶穌」跟「信耶穌的名」有何差別？

“Believe in” his name or believe “in his name”?

And the one who keeps his commandments remains in him and he (remains) in him; and therefore we know that he remains in us, by the spirit which he gave us.

遵守上帝命令的，就住在上帝裡面；上帝也住在他裡面。我們所以知道上帝住在我們裡面是因他所賜給我們的聖靈。

．v.19-21跟「彼此相愛」之間的關聯？

彼此相愛的人就是遵守上帝的誡命→上帝就在他裡面，他也在上帝裡面→我們的心就不會責備我們，因為上帝比我們的心大。

話鋒轉至教義，然而在教義的層面上很難彼此相愛，因此作者所指的彼此是自己的團體。

Beloved, don’t believe every spirit but test the spirits whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

親愛的弟兄啊，一切的靈，你們不可都信，總要試驗那些靈是出於上帝的不是，因為世上有許多假先知已經出來了。

．「出來」：從不好的靈or世界出來

²  evn tou,tw| ginw,skete to. pneu/ma tou/ qeou/\ pa/n pneu/ma o] o`mologei/ VIhsou/n Cristo.n evn sarki. evlhluqo,ta evk tou/ qeou/ evstin(  

Therefore you know the spirit of God; every spirit which confesses that Jesus Christ who has come in the flesh is from God.

凡靈認耶穌基督是成了肉身來，就是出於上帝的；從此你們可以認出上帝的靈來。

And every spirit which doesn’t confess Jesus is not from God; and this is the spirit of antichrist, which you have heard that is continuing to come, and now is in the world already.

凡靈不認耶穌，就不是出於上帝；這是那敵基督者的靈。你們從前聽見他要來，現在已經在世上了。

⁴  u`mei/j evk tou/ qeou/ evste( tekni,a( kai. nenikh,kate auvtou,j( o[ti mei,zwn evsti.n o` evn u`mi/n h' o` evn tw/| ko,smw|Å  

You are from God, little children, and you have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

小子們哪，你們是屬上帝的，並且勝了他們；因為那在你們裡面的，比那在世界上的更大。

．「他們」是誰？敵基督是單數，假先知是複數。

⁵  auvtoi. evk tou/ ko,smou eivsi,n( dia. tou/to evk tou/ ko,smou lalou/sin kai. o` ko,smoj auvtw/n avkou,eiÅ  

They are from the world, therefore they speak from the world and the world listens to them.

他們是屬世界的，所以論世界的事，世人也聽從他們。

．auvtw/n是否修飾o` ko,smoj？如果是的話，就變成their world listens，但這doesn’t make sense.

avkou,ei這種動詞可以用所有格當受詞。

⁶  h`mei/j evk tou/ qeou/ evsmen( o` ginw,skwn to.n qeo.n avkou,ei h`mw/n( o]j ouvk e;stin evk tou/ qeou/ ouvk avkou,ei h`mw/nÅ evk tou,tou ginw,skomen to. pneu/ma th/j avlhqei,aj kai. to. pneu/ma th/j pla,nhjÅ

WE are from God, the one who knows God listens to us, who is not from God doesn’t listen to us. From this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.

我們是屬上帝的，認識上帝的就聽從我們；不屬上帝的就不聽從我們。從此我們可以認出真理的靈和謬妄的靈來。

．h`mei/j又放句首，更加強調。

．v.1-6的目的：強調我們是正統，他們是不屬上帝的。

要有強烈的確信才說得出這種話，展現出滿腔熱情，但是排他性到一種程度會迫害他人。
